1 Throw baking soda and hot water down your drain to clear it.

It absorbs odour and it’s a great cleaning agent!

2 Dispose of your cooking grease in the trash rather than down your drain.

3 Chase vinegar down with hot water.

Washing cotton pads, hand wipes and washcloths down the drain can cause a blockage faster than you can say ‘call the plumber!’ Remember throw all your fibrous materials in the bin rather that down a pipe.

10 Steer clear of chemicals

Disposing of chemicals down a drain is also bad news for your plumbing- either dispose of them outside or call a professional if you’re unsure.
