All Outdoor Wedding Essentials

It’s approaching springtime, so wedding season is on the horizon. Many people are now opting to hold the happiest day of their lives outside rather than inside.

Whether it’s outside a grand estate, or in the forest or underneath a tipi tent – outdoor ceremonies are now considered the most romantic way for people to express how they feel.

But when you’re planning a wedding, you have to think of the practical as well as the aesthetic. Here are our tips for planning an outdoor wedding!

Marquee

The rain waits for no one. In case it should start to shower during your special day, make sure you have a marquee that can protect your venue. Marquees are also good for protecting against sun, wind or wildlife. Whether you decide on a clear span marquee, traditional pole marquee or separate tents – having shelter for your outdoor wedding is a must!

If you can’t get your hands on a marquee- bring brollies!

Practical Shoes

When else can you dress up if not for a wedding? If you know that you’ll be trekking through soft dirt and grass towards the venue, it might be better to forsake the heels and opt for something more practical. Another option is to initially don your trainers or flats and keep your high heels in your bag for when you reach the event.

Maybe keep a communal basket of ‘dancing shoes’ at the entrance to the ceremony – it’s always a nice touch to stop your guests feet from getting covered in mud.

Parking

There’s no point having an unusual and exotic location for a wedding venue if no one can get to it! Make sure that your wedding ceremony is held near a flat and dry plain where your guests can park their cars.

Make sure to set out little signs that point the way towards the parking.
