Anglian Water drain clean

Here at Bates Environmental, we have recently been undertaking the full drain cleaning of a new estate in preparation for Anglian Water adoption. The Water Act (2014) introduced changes to the Water Industry Act 1991 (WIA91) requiring Ofwat to issue statutory codes for adoption agreements. These are the agreements that developers or self-lay providers enter into when they want an appointed water or sewerage company to take over responsibility for the infrastructure they have constructed. They are the agreements entered into under section 51A WIA91 for water infrastructure, and under section 104 WIA91 for sewage infrastructure.

At Bates, we have four jetvac combination units of varying sizes. These vehicles will always have two members of trained staff present, whenever it is in operation due to health and safety reasons because of the high water pressure. These can be used to clear stubborn blockages, clear gully pots on the side of roads or badly fatted and silted up drainage runs. Storm drain systems, full of sewage and wastewater, are often found to have silt in them due to stones, mud, leaves etc being washed off of whatever surface and into the drainage system. This has an adverse effect on the drainage system. Our vehicles can break this down and remove the silt for the system and will ensure that sites will not be flooded.

In the video, we can see the spinning nozzle going through a 1200mm pipe. This is just one of the nozzles that would be sent through the pipe to ensure all areas are clean! Get in touch with us today to find out how we can help meet your sewage treatment and servicing needs.
